Some children wake up on the morning of Dec. 25 to find no presents under the Christmas tree. With this in mind, Western North Carolina Toys for Tots helps Santa each year, hoping to provide every child who would otherwise not receive a toy with a gift on Christmas.
Organized locally, the campaign is part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots foundation. Every toy collected goes to children who live in one of the 11 counties WNC Toys for Tots covers, including Henderson, Polk and Transylvania.
