The Crooked Road
Crossing the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwest Virginia is The Crooked Road, also known as “Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail” connecting the Piedmont with the Cumberland Mountains along its 253 mile route. The Crooked Road partially follows along U.S. Highway 58 from east to west through the “birthplace” of traditional mountain music in southwest Virginia. It is along this route, where it crosses Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains at their highest peaks, the term “The Crooked Road” originated.
While exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Crooked Road is a “must” on your to-do list. The experiences that you have will leave you with a lifetime of memories and the sounds of mountain music in your mind.
